I credit MK Olsen for making it cool to be swallowed up by oversized clothing. Not only are layers and layers of clothes perfect for that desirable disheveled look, they're also super cozy. Just add a venti cup of Starbucks in one hand, and possibly a tightly-clutched Blackberry in the other.

I'm pretttty obsessed with Vanessa's gas station look.

And on a completely un-fashion-related note:
I love baking. And I love cupcakes.
Sooo...I couldn't help but document the tasty cupcakes I made this weekend:
nom nom.

And now for some good ol' Chicago deep dish pizza.
I do enjoy good food.
Have a great week!

There are some people that just can't help but be cool. No matter what they do. Here's to the effortless:

mom jeans

If you had told me back in junior high that I would one day be wearing (no, willingly buying) the jeans that we so enjoyed making fun of, I would have been amused and quite possibly offended. We never understood how people could have possibly worn these things back in the ancient 1980's. Plus, they are the infamous "mom jeans."

But I really like them now. Can't help it.

Also, if you haven't seen the "mom jeans" SNL skit, you should.

Secondhand shirt and jeans, Target shoes, H&M ring and earrings.

please to have...?

Pretty please.
I can't even stand it.
Dolce & Gabbana swimsuit

My favorites are the middle ones, by Gucci. Do you dare?

Something actually affordable. But who knows when she got it. sigh.

Saw these on Too many tights. You should check it out, it's lots of fun.

skirt the issue

I'm not sure why I feel like I need to have some sort of clever pun for my titles, but I've noticed that I do it almost without fail. Cheesy, but I'll probably continue to do it anyway.

This whirlwind that is life has been nonstop for me lately. I know that sounds very cliché of me to say, but I'm not lying. One day soon I will post more regularly, catch up on visiting lovely blogs, and who knows, maybe an outfit post? Crazier things have happened.

So, if you haven't guessed it by now from my punny title, here's some skirts I've been ogling:

Mainly I just like the shoes in this picture. The skirt is nice too, but oh those shoes.

All three of the above are from Anthropologie.

Okay well this is technically a dress but she wears it kind of like a skirt so I'm counting it. I love it. It's by Diane Von Furstenberg.

I have no idea where this picture came from, but it's so great. I wish I could give credit where credit is due.

Oh and I've received this award from Vanessa's Runway:

Thank you darling! I think you're pretty fantabulous yourself!

Tibi

I found myself very much loving this Tibi line for fall. I'm really into the minimalistic look-it's so simple and still chic, and that is very appealing for lazies like me. Throw on a bold colored strapless top and those oh-so-perfect high waisted harem pants (I want I need) and bam! You're done. It's great for those days when you don't feel like piling on accessories and scarves and sweaters to get that sloppy layered look, which is cute, but I say that these looks are just as cute and a whole lot easier. You deserve a break every once in awhile.

Deffffinitely craving each and every one of these pieces.

tutu much

There's nothing quite like layers of tulle to make you feel like flouncing extravagantly down the street or dancing around your house. Wearing a tutu is one of the best ways to play dress-up, and now there are so many dance-inspired ways to sport the style that we can get away with donning one even if we aren't in the Nutcracker.

I want the white fishnets.

All 3 of the above images scanned from March 2009 Elle (US).

A throwback to the days when I would run around barefoot in my beloved pink tutu.

Oh, life has been busy. But good. Had such a fantastically packed weekend, topped off by the fact that my darling friend just got engaged. Congratulations baby!

nicole richie for mercury duo

Nicole holds a place in my heart as one of my favorite stylish people, so I was pleasantly surprised to see her doing a clothing campaign. Though I've never heard of Mercury Duo, I gotta say some of their stuff is pretty cute. I'm particularly eye-ing that little zipper skirt and dress. And hey, if it's good enough for Nicole...

I guess that's what Mercury Duo wants us to think. And I guess they got me. Touché, Mercury Duo.

Girl-crushin' a little bit.

I don't have much to say tonight, so I leave you with this question I saw on Leno the other night:
"If you had to travel cross country on a Greyhound bus, and you could choose one celebrity (currently living) to sit next to, who would you choose?

Apparently Drew Barrymore is #1 and Jay said he was #2.

I think I would choose Conan. A hilarious bus ride that would be.

What about you?
