Some more pictures, as promised, from our trip! It's only been what, 2 1/2 weeks since I got back?
The view from our hotel room. The streets get really crowded as everyone gets off work.
Random from the hotel lobby.
At this California cuisine restaurant (yeah, we were in China, but you have to know that when it's just two English-only speaking people going out for dinner, the most sensible and safe thing to do is go to a Western type restaurant), we got the whole upstairs to ourselves to shoot some pool.
I totally won.
No, I'm kidding. I didn't. Joseph is kind of an all-star when it comes to pool. And my skills are less than admirable.
Background: more rooftop cafe, an unsuspecting Joseph and a mediocre coffee smoothie.
Middleground: Chinese Vogue and the remains of a "happy muffin" which was actually a waffle which was actually super delicious.
Foreground: the best mango smoothie EVER ever.
And yep, Texas BBQ. On the boardwalk by the sea. In China.
Complete with live music (think "House of the Rising Sun") and a mechanical bull that, while we were there, was only ridden by two men (not at the same time). Different.
Okay, that's enough for now.

love the first few you put up especially!
so glad i stopped by! :)
I love the "Happy Muffin"! Now why would you name a waffle a muffin? And I love how they tried to recreate Texas of all places. And I REALLLLLLY want that mango smoothie please. And you're not that bad at pool I'm sure. It's probably Joseph's fault cause he's so good.
oh wow that looks so wonderful. My friend and I were wanting to go out of the country this summer but since we're just broke college kids we're driving up to san fransisco instead! (i'm ok with it, they have a whole Ghirdeli Square and a huge fashion district, i hear)
Oh! And here is the recipe I promised. I like orange, but you can substitute it with lemon, if you want.
-1 3/4 c flour
-1/2 c orange juice
-1 c sugar
-2 1/2 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 c butter
-2 eggs, whites beaten into fluffyness
-1 tsp vanilla.
Combine the butter, yolks, sugar, and vanilla, cream it.
Mix in flour, salt, baking powder, alternating with OJ/ lemon juice.
Fold in egg whites, gently.
Bake at 350 for 15mins.
I used just lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and zest all mixed for the icing. Fairly healthy and DELICIOUS
not enough! the city is so mysterious..
Would love to go to China! Loved these pics. I always love seeing vacation pictures.

Great pics! Wait, you found all these eating places in Hong Kong?! Too funny. I'm actually going to Hong Kong (for the first time) in Oct. May have to email you about suggestions for things to do and see. I saw your first post with the trip pics and they were great too!
